Like all my friends, Val is a wheel thrown stoneware ceramic duck, with hand made ducky features and a small ceramic bath duck for company. Underglazed in vibrant velvets, then kiln fired with transparent sheen to stoneware temperatures.

Geese include one slice of bread as standard!
Like all my creations, these geese are wheel thrown white stoneware, finished with goosey features, colour underglazed, biscuit kiln fired, transparent glazed then stoneware fired. Ceramic bread slices are removable. The ideal companion to cause delight and bother to your home, or gift to a loved one, before they head off to Silly Goose University! Or get a bit too clumsy?
You can use them as napkin rings, or just to admire from a distance and be the talking point of the family! And if they're destined for the dining table, maybe add some seasoning or some blooms!

A nighttime companion to help you look after your precious belongings. Ray is a handmade wheel-thrown ceramic duck with a little patterned tray. Tray size will hold about two rings.
As with all my companions, this duck is made with stoneware clay, thrown, shaped, dried, underglazed and fired to 900c. Then glazed with a sheen and glost fired to 1220c. A process of about 3 weeks!

I first made Bart with the Heart as a custom order for a Valentine's Day gift for somebody, and he was so popular on Instagram that I made him a permanent member of the family. I start with wheel-thrown white stoneware clay, then add on hand-built ducky features and heart, underglaze the colours, biscuit fire to 900'c then transparent glaze and fire to stoneware 1220'c. At this temperature the glaze becomes glossy and smooth and you're left with a new ceramic companion.

A rock dove for the ages. A money making man in the city. Round, pigeony and ready to sell sell sell. Entirely handmade and dressed in his finery. I loved the concept of having a city full of pigeons, but they're all busy and with jobs to do.
Like all my handmade items, this pigeon is wheel-thrown ceramic on the potter's wheel in a lovely speckled grey Sibelco clay. I then add on a stylish hat and a very fetching business briefcase. Underglazed with a pigeon colour palette and then kiln fired with a transparent sheen.

This little rotund lad is here to display your flowers. For a longer neck, speak to his brother. This vase was one of my very first ceramic makes, and the one that started it all! I was in a pottery class and put a beak on my vase. Fast forward six years and this is my fan favourite creation and the most in-demand of all my duckies!

I made her the other month and had some incredible suggestions from my Instagram followers for a name for her - the top rated one was Claire, but you might have been instead looking at a Bjork with the Norks? Or a Mistki with the Ti... anyway... Claire is a handmade ceramic duck with a passion for swimsuit season. The perfect companion for the female role model in your life, or one for your own wardrobe.
Claire with the Pair is an entirely handmade ceramic duck from start to finish, wheel-thrown in a white stoneware clay with added ducky features A painted red bikini bra and orange beak and feetsies. They are then underglazed, biscuit fired, transparent glazed and then kiln fired again to 1240'c. A process of about a fortnight!
I did a lot of focus testing with this one, more than I've ever done before, and tested the water a lot with my female presenting friends. Whereas none of them found the idea anything other than a silly bit of fun, I am of course aware of my position as a male artist and wanted to reconfirm that this duck is made with the same ambition of all my others - something silly to make you smile. I hope this intention isn't ever taken the wrong way!
